About the Role
We are in search of an innovative and forward-thinking leader to assume the role of Faculty Dean at CG Spectrum Institute. The Faculty Dean will have the crucial responsibility of offering strategic guidance to the Faculty, promoting a culture of teamwork, creativity, and inclusivity, and ensuring the delivery of top-tier educational experiences to our students. This position reports directly to the Executive Dean and plays a pivotal role in our dedication to academic excellence.
To excel in this role, the Faculty Dean should remain current with contemporary principles of education, teaching, and assessment by continuously engaging with the latest teaching literature and participating in professional development opportunities. They will also actively contribute to subject development, deliver lectures, coordinate subjects, and provide tutoring as necessary. Furthermore, the Faculty Dean will closely monitor students' progress and participation, collaborating with the Student Success Manager to identify and support those students who may be at risk of not meeting academic requirements. Additionally, the Faculty Dean will take charge of managing instances of student code of conduct violations, including cases of academic misconduct.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- A track record of research as evidenced by publications in high quality journals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively undertake teaching and associated administrative duties at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Experience of working with industry, Extensive knowledge and experience in the gaming industry, animation and visual effects are crucial. This includes a strong portfolio or a history of work in game design, development, animation or related areas.
- Applicants for the Faculty Dean should demonstrate a strong track record of academic leadership, and possess an excellent record of research scholarship.
Qualifications
- PhD or close to completing a PhD in a discipline relevant to the Department.
