Who are we hiring?
The Manager of Accounting will be responsible for managing the financial components of the MSG Vegas Sphere construction in progress for Las Vegas and London. This role will require interface and coordination with different functions within the development teams in London and New York, the construction team in Vegas, as well as MSGE Corporate departments, including Accounting, Finance, Accounts Payables, and Tax. Position will be based in our Burbank office and may require travel to Las Vegas MSG Sphere, London MSG Sphere, and MSGE Headquarters in New York to present to key executives or stakeholders. The role reports to the West Coast Senior Accounting Director and supervises one Senior Accountant

What will you do?

London Sphere:

• Review and approve journal entries in both UK and US ledgers.
• Review and approve reconciliations of major accounts quarterly and provide schedules as needed for the Corporate team to file company 10K and 10Q
• Keep track of contractual engagements with outside consultants and ensure that obligations are accurately accounted for and accrued as needed
• Review monthly expenses and capital purchases to ensure proper recording
• Lead annual UK statutory audit requirements and other required filings

 

Las Vegas Sphere:

• Review and approve construction accounting ledger and related journal entries and reclasses
• Track monthly and year to date construction costs and reconcile these with the CIP ledger
• Assess and improve process to track unpaid invoices to properly accrue for those expenses
• Liaise with MSGE Corporate Facilities Accounting to ensure appropriate classification of fixed assets additions.
• Ensure proper treatment of costs based on GAAP guidance.
• Monitor expenses in Concur to ensure policies are being enforced and budgets are on track.

What do you need to succeed?

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a medium to large sized enterprise environment.

• Experience of working in a support role to senior executives / managers.
