About Lone Star College System

Located just north of Houston, Texas, our five campuses serve 1,400 square miles. Our student enrollment is 62,844 in credit classes and 14,000 in continuing education. We are among Texas’ largest and fastest growing community colleges.
The Lone Star College System, formerly known as the North Harris Montgomery Community College District, is accredited through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Accredited since 1976, Lone Star’s accreditation was reaffirmed in 2001. SACS is one of six nationally recognized regional accreditation agencies through the United States Department of Education and oversees the accreditation of colleges in 11 southern states.
