A dynamic force in the art of sound design, editing, and mixing for more than 25 years, its work has been honored with 18 Academy Awards. Skywalker Sound has provided sound services for more than half of the top 25 highest-grossing films of all time.

Welcome to Skywalker Ranch, the headquarters for Skywalker Sound. Opened in 1987, the ranch sits on 2,500 acres of rolling hills in Marin County, north of San Francisco. The centerpiece of the property is the ivy-covered, brick-clad Technical Building, staffed by an exceptional team of sound designers, re-recording mixers and editors. In addition to the leafy courtyard and cozy atrium — both perfect for informal meetings — the building houses:


· 6 feature-film dubbing stages

· a 300-seat screening room

· a scoring stage capable of recording a 130-piece orchestra.

· 10 newly remodeled sound design/editing suites featuring digital video projection and 5.1 monitoring.

· 36 digital sound editing rooms



Skywalker Ranch isn't just a place to work; it's a world all its own. Employees can visit the produce stand to purchase organic vegetables. Jams, olive oil and wine are produced right here in the fields and vineyards. There's also a general store where they can pick up Lucasfilm memorabilia, as well as a Fitness Center with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, an aerobics room, a heated swimming pool, and tennis, basketball and squash courts.
