About LucasArts

LucasArts, a Lucasfilm Ltd. company, is a leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software worldwide for video game console systems, computers and the Internet. Based in San Francisco, as well as on the Internet at www.lucasarts.com, LucasArts was created in 1982 by George Lucas to provide an interactive element to his vision of a state-of-the-art, multifaceted entertainment company.

Now working more closely than ever with its sister company Industrial Light & Magic since its 2005 move to the Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco, LucasArts continues to advance the art of game design, while still adhering to its original design philosophy: to create games that inspire, challenge and engage players.

In recent years, LucasArts releases have achieved many notable sales milestones and awards. Listed as the NPD Group's No. 3 best-selling game of 2006, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was widely regarded as the best licensed game of the year. That same year, Thrillville established itself as the No. 1 original children's franchise, and the No. 4 PC title was Star Wars: Empire at War. 2005 was an incredible year for LucasArts, as the company released the best-selling new intellectual property of the year with Mercenaries, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith became the fastest-selling Star Wars game at the time of its release, and Star Wars Battlefront II quickly wrested the title of "best-selling Star Wars game of all time" from its previous version.

In spring 2008, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be released in a fashion typically reserved for Hollywood blockbusters, followed soon after by another internally developed project, Indiana Jones. Both games are being created within the same toolset used by sister company Industrial Light & Magic for movies such as the Oscar-winning Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Likewise, both titles will incorporate next-generation technologies by partners Pixelux Entertainment (Digital Molecular Matter) and NaturalMotion Ltd. (euphoria), each designed to present simulation-based gameplay with unprecedented realism.
