Animation Lead

Description

The Animation Lead on this production will be central to the success of delivering the project to the right standard and within the schedule. They will be at the heart of a very exciting creative production, overseeing a team of approximately 10 animators working to a tight schedule . The ability to appropriately delegate, lead, communicate and animate creatures to a high standard is essential. As well as internally managing the animation team they will also be liaising regularly with the producer, creative director and overall CG supervisor.
Essential responsibilities include:
* leading and inspiring the animation team (as well as animating).
* Help the producer plan and prepare the schedule for the animation team.
* Ensure the quality of the animation and the rate of animation fulfils the brief and is delivered to the highest standard possible.
* When necessary work with the Project supervisor and producer on staffing needs and assist in recruitment of project animation personnel.
* Attend Daily meetings/viewing of animation work with other team heads and when appropriate MD.
* Help deal with any inconsistencies that arise in staffing.
* When time allows work on key animation and help progression of key sequences, working with CG supervisor and TDs to help make the process achievable within the set schedule.
