Description

A Garmin user human interface designer is a passionate designer who understands fundamental usability and aesthetic principals to guide software user interface development for various products with different specifications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Researching, designing and prototyping new user experiences for new features, creating design mockups, story boarding, producing visual assets as needed and writing behavioral documentation (required for proper design implementation)
-Produce creative, simple and highly usable solutions for software user interface design
-Work closely with software engineers and graphics artists, software engineers and product managers of the assigned project in determining software interface design directions
-Assist with new user interface testing and participate in usability review to get feedbacks on new designs
-Collaborate with and communicate to teams in engineering and product managers to produce superior solutions
-Maintain and ensure user interface design and behavioral consistency across Garmin products

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Remain current on user interface design trends and competitors' design
-Stay abreast with new prototyping, presentation or computer graphics techniques and software
-Perform other job-related duties as assigned
