ILM Singapore - Senior Creature TD

Description

The Senior Creature Technical Director is responsible for working closely with the Lead Creature Technical Director and CG Supervisor to ensure work is created to the quality and standards requested by the client and the VFX Producer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Report into the Lead Creature TD and work with the CG Supervisor and Production Manager to ensure that the work assigned is accomplished efficiently, to the required quality standards, and within the schedule.
Creative responsibilities: collaborate closely with the Lead Creature TD Supervisor to ensure that all hero Creature TD work that comes through the LAS Feature Film team meets client specifications; point person in Singapore responsible for assimilating the creative brief from the Lead Creature TD and guiding the Creature TDs in its execution; aesthetic direction of Creature TD work – stepping into the role of Lead Creature TD and making necessary decisions/calls when Lead Creature TD is not available to provide required input.
Setting up, running, and troubleshooting proprietary cloth, hair, flesh surfaces, and fur/feather simulations. Experience with rigid body simulations, particle simulations, and wrangling rigging and creature pipeline issues is a plus.
Script utilities/tools/plug-ins in various software packages, as required.
Aid Lead Creature TD in leading the Creature TDs: provide mentoring and individual training and as needed.
Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the individual skills sets of the LAS Feature Film artists.
Maintain constant communication flow with both the team in Singapore and those in San Francisco (as required) to ensure all parties have current information.
