Systems Administrator

Description

Join a driven team that architects, implements and supports all aspects of DreamWorks Animation’s leading-edge technology infrastructure. This position requires individual to work independently to provide administration, capacity planning, and performance analysis for systems and storage infrastructure in multiple locations. Input in the design of future technology and evaluation of new hardware, software, and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Administer software deployments (both Linux and Windows), system builds, patching, anti-virus and driver management
- Virtualization Infrastructure Support, including, but not limited to, VMware ESX, Xen Server, Oracle VM and Microsoft VM, as well as cluster solutions with remote storage. Virtual machines consist of both Linux and Windows VMs, with deployment world-wide
- Support Windows and Linux integration efforts, including using CrossOver Office to provide Windows applications on Linux; VNC to provide virtual and remote cross-platform desktops; cross-platform scripting (Perl + WMI) and LDAP/AD Integration
- Deploy and support HP System Insight Manager for Windows and Linux systems, as well as additional hardware (such as HP C7000 chassis)
- Craft stand-alone scripts in Perl on both Windows and Linux
- Mentor less experienced System Administrators
- Participate in off-hours on-call rotation, and occasional weekend PM work
