Assistant Professor in Multimedia Design

Full-time, Tenure-Track, Entry-Level Teaching Position.

Starting August 31, 2009.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach each semester three BFA level multimedia design courses on Macintosh in a dual platform environment, which may include beginning, intermediate and advanced multimedia classes (animation/modeling; interface/interactive design; 2D computer imaging) ability to teach rendering modeling and animation (Maya environment). Classes may also include computer foundation classes that support art education, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, multimedia design, and studio art concentrations in the BFA. Contribute to a rigorous learning environment with willingness to use traditional, alternative and digital delivery methods including participation in a laptop teaching and learning environment. Demonstrate organizational skills, collegiality and leadership skills. Commitment to undergraduate teaching is necessary. Provide academic advisement for students; curriculum development and service to the department, college and university. Engage in professional research; maintain involvement in the design profession; pursue external funding. Perform other duties as designated by Chair.
