Art Outsourcing Manager

General Description:

Ubisoft Chengdu is seeking a talented lead artist with good management experience looking to expand his horizons in becoming an Art Outsourcing Manager. He/she will oversee the production and quality of art assets created for and delivered to external Ubisoft studios, and ensures that the assets matches the customer’s expectations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main communication channel with various external studios with regard to art outsourcing
• Communicate efficiently with the external studios to ensure that the art style, technical constraints, and art creation pipeline are well established before outsourcing production begins
• Evaluate the proposed art asset list and work with the external studio to develop a workable schedule for the outsourcing work, taking into account staffing needs and artist skill sets
• Mentor the outsourcing art team and provide technical and artistic feedback to ensure art assets satisfy external studio’s expectations
• Review art assets before milestone submissions; distribute external studio’s feedback to the team and work closely with the artists to ensure the feedback is understood
• Work with a project manager to confirm that the artists remain on schedule throughout the project
• Assess each artist’s strengths and weaknesses and be an integral part of their performance evaluations
