Description
Purpose of Position:
The individual will create and apply the textures to the game’s objects and environments.
Missions:
The main responsabilities and functions of the texturer are to:
-Put the artistic direction of the project into application when creating the textures;
-Be familiar with the objects and environments created by modellers, level artists, and level designers;
-Define the type and number of textures to be produced according to the object and its use and with the approval of the technical director;
-Produce all of the necessary textures (nmap, spec, diffuse ..) so as to meet quality expectations;
-Collaborate in texture planning with the immediate supervisor and level artists;
-Create or modify textures;
-Use their common sense and skills to optimize the number and use of textures produced;
-Generate mapping coordinates for the objects that he/she is in charge of;
-Be proactive in exchanges with modellers and level artists so as to adapt the textures to their needs and constraints;
-Validate the quality of the textures once they have been imported and make any necessary improvements;
-Participate in the optimisation of game levels for all texture-related matters;
-Correct the texture bugs identified by testers so as to eliminate any malfunctions;
-Carry out all other related tasks.
