The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) is being built in Saudi Arabia as an international, graduate-level research university dedicated to inspiring a new age of scientific achievement in the Kingdom, the region, and beyond. The environmentally sensitive campus, located on 3,200 acres on the Red Sea at Thuwal, is set to open in September 2009.

KAUST has recently partnered with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) to build and conduct joint research on the world’s most advanced visualization laboratory known as Cornea. Cornea will host the world’s highest resolution and brightest VL6 Virtual Environment featuring a 100 million pixel system that will provide pure 20/20 visual acuity in a fully three-dimensional environment for KAUST researchers, students, and partners.

Job Description: Plan, produce, and edit videos in a variety of formats collaboratively with scientists and other visualization laboratory team members that explain new scientific research.

Job Duties:
• Work collaboratively with a team of visualization and computer graphics developers to produce videos for campus scientists in a variety of scientific domains.
• Manage productions including lighting, audio, and production coordination.
• Direct field video productions, live broadcasts and webcasts.
• Edit video productions for final format release.
• Create interactive data driven director and flash animations.
• Prepare and post video for on-line distribution.
