Tippett Studio is a unique, Academy Award winning, full service visual effects company that specializes in CG character animation for movies and television commercials. Founded in 1984 by Phil Tippett, the Studio now employs over 145 talented artists and technicians in Berkeley, California.

We currently have a need for a Lead Visual Effects Editor.

Summary
The Lead Visual Effects Editor serves as the primary interface between production editorial and Tippett Studio. This position provides leadership in the Editorial Department as a mentor providing excellent creative editing skills.

Responsibilities:
Act as primary interface between production editorial and the studio, including but not limited to the I/O department.
Conform Avid sequences and distribute cut information
Provide studio supervisors with technical and editorial support
Prepare video shipments
Provide mentorship to Assistant Editor and other Editorial staff
Assist in film and video projection
Creative cutting of demo and show reels
Maintain and develop departmental systems of organization
Create DVDs for client presentations
Creative problem-solving
Perform basic MCR tasks: routing, patching, duplication and troubleshooting.
