Sony PlayStation: Lead Quality Assurance Tester
San Diego, California
The First Party Quality Assurance department provides quality assurance testing and support for games and/or projects produced by SCEA internal Product Development teams. The role of the Lead Quality Assurance Tester will primarily focus on title leadership, project management and supervision of team responsibilities. The role will require the Lead QAT to oversee a project with a team of various sizes. They will be expected to develop a testing strategy, allocate their assigned resources effectively and maintain a productive and efficient test team through the title’s QA test cycle. Duties include, but are not exclusive to: generation of reports and documentation, information tracking, internal and external department communication, assigning tasks, project supervision, multi-tasking, and travel.
Responsibilities:
• Determine daily testing priorities and assigns tasks to meet priorities. Create and maintain test data.
• Be responsible for an in-depth knowledge of the title as well as the project management aspect of the assigned project/title.
• Be accountable for the Tracking and documentation of various aspects of the project throughout the QA test cycle (reports, updates, resources, budgets, etc).
• Develop testing strategies for the project with guidance from FPQA Management. Implement testing strategies, effectively utilize testing resources, assignments to QA staff, etc.
• Provide leadership and direction for the project and staff (morale, focus, productivity, communication, etc).
Supervise testing staff by assigning tasks, responsibilities, expectations, timelines, etc.
• Be responsible for the completion and verification of the following items of the project: Creation and effective management of the DTS; maintenance of department bug writing standards; test plan creation, implementation, and accurate completion ; online functionality verification (if applicable); TRC test plan completion, etc.
• Work on-site alongside the test team (on the test floor, flexibility for various shifts, etc).
• Review product documentation and product text for accuracy, readability, grammar and spelling. Coordinate all information on each assigned project. · Prepare proper documentation for and attend all meetings, conference calls, etc in regards to the assigned project.
• Work alongside and communicate with internal and external teams such as Project Management, Online Support, Marketing, PD Studios, Development teams, Legal, etc, and provide documentation as needed.
