Department Head of Computer Science and Systems

Description

Chief academic and administrative officer of the department. Responsible for the department's students, staff and faculty, special projects and resources within the department. Appointed by the provost, approved by the president, and serves at the discretion of the provost. Primary responsibilities include leadership and team building; campus leadership; governance, vision and direction of the department; planning and budgeting; implementation of institute goals and objectives; facilities and equipment development. Also responsible for student retention and recruitment; working with others to promote program and student advising system; academic affairs; program quality; accreditations; academic assessments and development.
