Special Events Intern

Energetic self-starter needed to assist with the resource development cultivation program in the Metro Orlando area (Orange, Osceola & Seminole). Focus is to plan and execute resource development strategies to achieve Special Event goals. Reports to and supports Special Events Coordinator in helping to create, plan, follow-up on details and arrangements for special events. In addition, will help cultivate and solicit sponsorships from corporations. Position works under the direction of the Special Events Coordinator and Resource Development Department to ensure continuity with corporate development strategy, marketing strategy, and event execution.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Research and analyze corporations and recommend solicitation strategies.
2. Help develop strategic plan to build alliances with local corporate executives and local organizations. Participate in plan to develop collaborative partnerships with UCF Professors to build awareness and internship opportunities as well as volunteer positions for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida in Resource Development and Marketing.
3. Help create, plan, organize and implement logistics for special events, including obtaining sponsorships and solicitation of gifts and preparing related printed materials and publications.
4. Keep detailed records of sponsorship activity as well as work on event timelines, roles & responsibilities and do appropriate follow-up. Ensure the evaluation of development activities and identify opportunities to improve results.
5. Participate in committee meetings, club tours and special events.
