Director of Marketing
Description
The Director of Marketing will direct and oversee short- and long-range planning and development of the studio’s brand identity and game properties. The Director will be responsible for building the marketing and PR teams and overseeing all internal and external messaging.
The ideal candidate will have experience running international marketing and branding campaigns in the games or entertainment sector, and will be looking for a hands-on, but strategic, position in a well-funded and growing company.
Located in the Greater DC area, the company has the advantages of a small start-up, with the financial capacity and security of a major player in the games space funding us.
Responsibilities:
Developing and supervising a top performing marketing and public relations team, including managing marketing agencies.
Creating and directing an aggressive media relations effort to enhance the company's visibility with its customers, potential employees, and investors.
Providing input on customer preferences and requirements to the development team and senior management.
Directing and coordinating development and maintenance of collateral materials, to include brochures, sales sheets, CDs, POP materials, ad campaigns and other materials associated with the marketing of finished goods in the retail channel.
Coordinating and writing press releases.
Coordinating national tradeshows and promotional marketing activities.
Maintaining a served-market analysis defining the total market, company market share, competitor market share and available market share by product market.
Providing the needed data to prepare, update and control forecasts covering projected new-business sales, bookings and proposal activity/costs.
Establishing and maintaining a professional, trained and motivated staff through effective implementation of performance and career development programs.
Coordinate messages and activities with Community Manager and Customer Service Director.
