The lead content designer reports to and works with the lead designer or creative director to help define content systems and the game world, then develops, implements and maintains them throughout preproduction, production and launch.
=== Primary Responsibilities
• Help recruit, manage and mentor a team of internal and external content designers to produce outstanding work
• Design, implement and maintain the design process for both internal and external teams
• Design and implement a compelling and appealing virtual fantasy world
• Work with the Art Director to create and manage a pipeline for the development of world assets, zones and instances
• Develop and manage a pipeline for the planning, design, and implementation of in-game quests, including writing text, spawning, and scripting
• Implement game content using standard and proprietary 3d software, engine tools, and scripting
• Work with the lead and other designers to develop core game concepts, systems and content
• Develop design reference guides and a “world design bible” for use by internal and external teams
• Help to develop and maintain a healthy and positive company culture in a new startup
• Help define game requirements and find design solutions to them
• Set aggressive but achievable goals and provide clear and consistent feedback and critiques to subordinate designers
• Help to develop and iterate (and use!) proprietary tools
