- Senior Software Engineer
Would you like to become part of the team that includes the creative visionaries behind Drizzt Do'Urden and Spawn? 38 Studios is currently seeking a passionate, experienced software engineer to join the Copernicus team. Responsibilities
• Work with the engineering team to create high quality software that meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Work with team leads to define functional and non-functional requirements.
• Implement, maintain, debug and optimize code for a variety of game systems or tools on both the client and server.
• Improve software pipelines and processes to increase overall team productivity.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Participate in the hiring process, conducting interviews and providing feedback.
• Facilitate communication between engineering and other departments.
- Requirements:
- • Knowledge: Very strong knowledge of C++ required. Experience with Python or other scripting languages required. Strong knowledge of agile development methodologies. Has a working knowledge of most game programming disciplines (e.g. AI, animation, rendering, UI, networking, etc), and expertise in at least one discipline. Knowledge of distributed systems, MMO security issues, or RDBMS systems are plusses.
• Competencies: Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent organization and efficient time management skills are required. Understands how to work on large teams in a deadline-driven environment.
• Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years game industry experience with at least 3 shipped titles. Must have worked with several different game engines with large code bases. Previous MMO experience is a plus. Some leadership experience with at least small teams is a plus.
