- Blue Castle Games is on the hunt for a Gameplay Software Engineer for its newest project... an unannounced Action title to be released on the several platforms.
The Gameplay Engineer is an integral player on the Gameplay team, which is responsible for the game's AI and player animation systems. You are responsible for specific features and are directed and mentored by an experienced Lead Engineer who has led gameplay on multiple top-rated titles. You will enjoy a creative opportunity to shape the project's technology and features while working with other talented Engineers, Designers and Animators in a fun and dynamic team setting.
As a Gameplay Engineer you have a desire to achieve new levels of gameplay excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, write, debug, and refine real-time gameplay AI.
- Work with other engineers, designers and animators to ensure features are designed and implemented correctly.
- Ensure your features ROCK! Then help others do the same!
- Participate in project planning and scheduling for your features.
- Requirements:
- - Bachelor's degree in computer science/related field, or equivalent experience.
- Superior C++ skills
- Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Able to communicate with technical and creative team members face-to-face and in writing.
- Enthusiasm and desire to learn. Quickly.
- Bonus: You get the subtleties that make a game more than a visualization.
- Bonus: Education or experience with animation systems, 3D animation packages, etc.

The studio was formed in 2005, fulfilling the desire to start a company where creativity, experience and hard work come together to create outstanding games. We are currently a 150 person studio with plans to expand to 170+ in 2008. In its short tenure, Blue Castle has already developed and shipped The BIGS (published by 2K Sports in June 2007) on PS3, 360, PS2, PSP and Wii. We are well underway on three new projects - an unannounced Action title and two Sports titles.
