Position: Pre-Vis Artist (Feature Film)
Functional Area: Pre-Vis
Reports To: Pre-Vis Supervisor

Overall Accountability

A contributor that utilizes computer graphics software to create rough versions of shots in a sequence, and translates the intent of the storyboarded sequences from 2D to 3D and explores, creates and enhances this material and the vision of the director. Contributes to the development of storyboards and visual ideas. Collaborates with story and visual artists to develop specific designs. Participates in generating and maintaining character, environment, background color and texture, lighting and/or prop design. Able to develop visual ideas and troubleshoot the visual and creative translation of the storyboards to 3D. Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Creates rough computer generated versions of shots in sequences typically for complex digital effects or stunts.
- Generates aspects of sequence prototypes for review and enhancement.
- Executes rough sequences utilizing 3D software.
- Able to create visual solutions for multiple types of sequences.
- Able to use a 2D storyboard reel as a basis for 3D translation.
- Can offer advice/suggestions to issues arising from 2D to 3D translation.
- Work with the tool and techniques of Rainmaker, and keep an open dialogue with Production Technology on issues, bugs, enhancements.
- Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets.
