Full Time Faculty - Entertainment Arts

Description

The Entertainment Arts Department at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit Michigan is currently seeking a full-time faculty member and professional educator to teach in the Entertainment Arts Department focus in Game Art. The successful candidate will work closely with the chair and key members of the Entertainment Arts Department to implement new course content and to promote the program and its graduates on a national level. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester, assisting with developing both course and programmatic content, and providing academic advising and career mentoring to students. Additional responsibilities include cultivating and maintaining strong relationships within the local and national entertainment industry, and assisting with developing resources for both the Entertainment Arts Department and the College.

The department consists of approx 180 students and growing focused in Animation/Game Art/Video and Live Action and utilizes both Mac and PC computers, a stop motion animation lab, and experimental/traditional animation lab, render farm, AV labs with HD capability, sound re-recording suite, audio ISO suite, masters series Oxberry animation stand and has numerous digital production tools and resources supported by the college’s IT department. The department has a great working relationship with the Computer Science Department at the University of Michigan for the coding side of game production.

The College for Creative Studies – located in the heart of Detroit’s urban and creative hub - is one of the nation’s leading art and design colleges. CCS currently enrolls over 1,300 degree students across eleven majors: advertising design, art education, crafts, entertainment arts, fine arts, interior design, graphic design, illustration, photography, product design and transportation design. The college is currently planning to launch an MFA in Entertainment Arts within the next several years.
