Principal Engineer
Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading the development of defining, recommending and gaining approval for project test strategies. This includes defining and driving “design for quality and testability” into WMS’ evolving product innovation and technologies. In addition, it includes consulting with project teams, reviewing their requirements, designs and planned functionality from a quality and test perspective. It also requires developing a deep understanding of the gaming industry so that the test architect can ultimately support and influence business and technology strategy from a quality and test viewpoint.

Job Functions
• To establish key contacts with upstream organizations that have a direct impact on Product Assurance (Product Management, Systems Engineering, OS Dev, and Game Dev)
• Define and drive “design for quality and testability” into WMS application and technology platforms
• Consult with project teams, review their requirements, designs and planned functionality from a quality and test perspective
• To be aware of when new MRDs are written by Product Management and review them for potential impacts to Product Assurance
• To attend reviews of resultant Requirements Documents produced by Systems Engineering
• Define and assess test (verification and validation) practices, standards, processes, and skills at the Department and Project level
• Maintain the test architecture and assist with the selection, integration and implementation of tools to support testing
• Understand business drivers, quality risks, and tradeoffs with the ability to propose risk mitigation approaches to meet the business need
• To attend meetings in-person at jurisdictional locations or via conference call with Systems Engineering to gain insight into customer requirements
• To work with Systems Engineering on creating a process to facilitate notification to Product Assurance of any new or modified jurisdictional requirements
• To communicate to the Test Team Leads and/or functional Test Managers and data that could impact the testing readiness of their respective teams
• Provide training on test or technical related topics to test engineers as needed
• Provide test best practices talks on insights gained through attending test conferences
• Develop and gain approval on high level test strategies
• Provide review input on test plans and test cases
• Drive results/define strategies for automation solutions as part of test
