Description
The Screen Shot Designer in Apple’s Graphic Design Group performs a variety of tasks to support creative staff. He or she rebuilds low-resolution screen grabs as resolution-independent, scaleable files suitable for a wide variety of output methods. The file-building process includes typesetting or inserting copy in foreign languages, compositing lifestyle photography, repainting icons, creating or adjust interface elements such as buttons, and creating multiple versions for use in different geographic territories.
The candidate should be well versed in the functionality of smart objects, complex file organization, layer effects and how they scale, among other things. They should also have a keen eye for detail as it applies to product accuracy.
The Screen Shot Designer prepares the artwork to strict standards and sizes for use in asset kits as well as for web, worldwide sales, PR, and marcom support. Given this, a technical understanding of how files compress and how to prepare them for the web, is essential.
This work is typically done within small teams under tight deadlines, so strong communication skills are required, as well as coolness under pressure, resourcefulness, ingenuity in solving problems, dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and cope with rapid change. Not least, the position requires the candidate to be dedicated to Apple’s high standards.
