Exchange Systems Engineer

Description

As the Exchange Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for our messaging system which is a hybrid of Linux messaging systems interoperating with Exchange 2007 components. Exchange serves calendaring and resource management for 1500 users across two sites in Redwood City and Glendale, CA and full mailbox functionality for half of the users.

The Exchange infrastructure is a “high availability” model utilizing both CCR/LCR and traditional clustering that serve the local sites with “fail over” to a disaster recovery site. Auxiliary services such, as BES, active sync and OWA are fully redundant.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Job requires a senior exchange engineer to join the existing exchange messaging team.
- Monitor all phases of Exchange 2007 email and journaling services and processes
- Manage log and database integrity for all Exchange mailbox servers
- Manage Exchange full and incremental backup process
- Maintain all service pack/security updates for AD and Exchange servers
- Maintain hardware firmware and driver updates for HP blades and Proliant servers
- Level 3 support to Helpdesk for Outlook and Entourage mail clients
- Maintain Exchange 2007 and SQL Server 2005 High Availability systems at 99.999% uptime
- Execute all updates, fixes and troubleshooting under guidelines of corporate change management parameters.
- Execute “on-call” support responsibilities per schedule
- Maintain IT compliance components
- Team with Linux and Exchange email support staffs to fix, troubleshoot and implement email issues with minimal downtime
