Assistant Professor in Fine Arts. The New Jersey School of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a new position in Fine Arts. This is a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor that will begin Fall 2009.

We seek an outstanding artist and teacher to help coordinate the development of NJIT’s new Bachelor of Fine Arts program, including shaping the curriculum and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration with our design and architecture programs. We are especially interested in artists whose work and academic interests complement NJIT’s historic strengths in digital design, digital fabrication, digital representation and/or urban design.

Candidates must hold an M.F.A. and an exceptional record of creative/professional achievement and be qualified to teach studio and lecture courses in some of the following areas of specialization: contemporary media, installation, environmental sculpture, visual culture, photography, film and video, and 2-D and 3-D foundations. Traditional specializations will be considered if they intersect with our strengths, and/or focus on non-traditional sites beyond the frame and gallery. The successful candidate will have an impressive body of creative work and a strong portfolio of student work.
