RnD Software TDs

Description

The job is centred around the needs of production, with the aim of benefiting the studio as a whole as well. It is an RnD position, in a unit that focuses on tools and software support for the production departments. You will develop tools, but also be out on the floor with the department(s) that the tools are being written for.

The RnD Software TD will need to develop key relationships with senior personnel across all production departments particularly FX, Lighting, Rendering and Compositing.

They will need to liaise with I.T and Systems Engineering departments on technical issues. They also need to liaise with general users for requirements gathering and support.

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Develop new tools based on the needs of production for various software platforms, and our own set of in-house tools
- Anticipate and identify production requirements
- Develop detailed specifications, proposals and management plans for projects
- Maintenance of existing tools and support artists in their production tasks
- Work with senior production staff to ensure delivery of quality solutions for production
- Implement best-practice software development processes
