Environment Artisit
Description
Environment Artists work with level designers to build game spaces from initial concept phase to the final polished, playable stage. The environment artist’s primary duties, under the direc-tion of the art director and lead artist, are in 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting. The artist is expected to collaborate with technical artists and production to assure that spaces are, as well as beautiful, technically feasible within reasonable time frames
Modeling terrain geometry and level objects and props
UV mapping
Generating materials (using normal maps diffuse maps, specular maps etc)
Collaborating with the level design to create levels which balance aesthetics with play-ability and technical feasibility.
