Compositor - TD (R&D)

Description

LAIKA is seeking a Technical Director - Compositor for its Research & Development Department.

The Technical Director - Compositing deals with Tools Development, tools training, analyzing workflows, and work as part of the team on selected tasks to meet a specified time frame.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
* Design, prototype and implement artist-centric production tools and specify the artist requirements for tools to be developed by other R&D departments, and integrate them into production workflows.
* Working with the production staff to understand best usage of LAIKA production tools, and to troubleshoot production problems and proactively work to minimize their impact. During scheduled production periods this function can increase in importance.
* Work with the production staff to analyze workflows for areas that may benefit from further design work.
* Work with a team of developers to provide features and functionality within a fixed time frame.
