Lead Technology Programmer

Description

Surreal Software (a subsidiary of Midway) has a new opportunity opening for a smart and experienced Lead Programmer to manage 4-5 systems engineers who will focus on core engine and tools pipeline development for This is Vegas, our open-world, sandbox game project that pushes the envelope with innovative features.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead a talented team to architect and implement our cutting-edge core engine systems, including:
o World and Character Rendering
o Special Effects
o Audio Systems
o Streaming and Loading
o Optimizations
o Artists’ Content Pipelines

• Audit the technology architecture and code to ensure that the team is creating clean, maintainable code of high quality.

• Identify and provide programming solutions for workflow and production bottlenecks, in all departments.

• Planning and triaging features in response to requests from coworkers across many disciplines.

• Break down tasks and provide time estimates to Production for the schedules.

• Focus on memory and performance requirements.

• Architect code to be sharable between a variety of game titles.
