Animated Feature VFX Supervisor

Axis Studios Group are currently recruiting for an experienced VFX Supervisor to join them on site in Glasgow to support with an upcoming feature project.
Due to the current climate, this role will initially be remote however will be based in our flagship Glasgow studio.
This is a great opportunity for a talented individual to join a passionate team in one of the UK’s leading Animation studios.
The VFX Supervisor must work with the Director, CG and production teams to strive for creative excellence and retain the original vision within budget & schedule. As VFX Supervisor, you will be responsible for determining the technical & workflow aspects of the project whilst collaborating with the HOD's to align wider studio objectives.
This role provides a great opportunity to work with talented teams on an exciting feature project whilst supervising the day-to-day activities of the CG team. Ensuring high quality output and productivity, you will problem solve & address technical challenges, client concerns, and team issues promptly to prevent production delays.
From supporting project planning, to determining an execution approach, to assuring final delivery of high quality content, the VFX Supervisor will be a reassuring, confident voice for the team working collaboratively with all HODs, Production and Management team.
Responsibilities:
Nurture teams to deliver execution excellence.
Actively engage in assessing the best methods of approach, in terms of project execution and delivery to schedule and budget.
Be familiar with software's and technical pipelines used in production.
Work with the project director & art director to understand the vision and work on execution solutions to implement it successfully
Be client facing and be able to discuss execution ideas and solutions to meet the creative vision.
Receive and act on direction given by the director and have the ability to understand and pass on feedback to teams
Identify technical problems and be responsible for the solution.
Have detailed deadline awareness and deliver the project on time.
Requirements:
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop a team
Previous experience as a VFX Supervisor on a Feature film is essential
Highly organized with exemplary time/project management skills
Proven ability to prioritize conflicting tasks
Solution orientated with a collaborative approach to problem solving
Able to remain calm and confident in a fast-paced environment
