Deck Nine Games is looking to hire an Experienced Character Artist to help us create the next generation of stunning digital characters. What kind of artist, you ask? An artist who radiates passion, talent and an unquenchable curiosity about the human form. An artist who wants millions of fans to fall in love with their creation.
The ideal candidate has several years of experience and is fully versed in low and high poly modeling, normal mapping and texturing. We’re making story-first games, so if you want the world to see your characters up close and personal, we’re interested in you.
While we'd love to hire someone to join us onsite, we're also perfectly happy to work with remote contractors anywhere in the world!

What You Need for this Position
- Fluency in Maya and Z-Brush
- Proven ability to create believable characters that radiate life and personality
- A developed understanding of anatomy and proportions
- The ability to craft an attractive human face
- A good attitude and a willingness to take direction and criticism
- AAA shipped game experience

Deck Nine Games is an independent game developer dedicated to crafting interactive story-first games that inspire, transform, and entertain players. Our passion is storytelling games.
Our first game, Life is Strange: Before the Storm is loved by fans and has won multiple awards, including Game of Year and was nominated for both a VGA and a BAFTA. The studio is 100+ people and is in sunny Westminster, Colorado at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The studio is working on an unannounced story adventure game with Square Enix and is growing additional teams for more projects.
