Network Engineer

Summary:
Provide subject matter expertise in order to actively participate in the day-to-day management of the Company’s global network architecture extending across multiple geographies.  Manage and provide solutions for difficult technical problems.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Apply understanding of the many issues involved with managing a corporate information technology infrastructure including overall design, network connectivity, local network topologies, etc.
• Provide consultative expert advice and direction to IT management on network design, technology, migration, expansion, etc.
• Advise on security and threat management and suggest and implement solutions.
• Provide timely and creative solutions to difficult technical problems.
• Provide Windows and Linux software support as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, plus CCNA (ideally CCNP certification), and 5+ years’ experience with LAN/WAN backend administration.
 
Required Skills:

• Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP based networks and associated technologies (VPN’s, MPLS, BGP, etc.)
• Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, Cisco ASA, and Brocade FOS
• Knowledge of Load Balancers and WAN Acceleration hardware and technologies
• Installation/routine maintenance (firmware updates, etc.) of infrastructure hardware
• General knowledge of Windows and Linux desktop and server operating systems
• Ability to provide accurate technical documentation in Visio and other formats as required

Preferred Skills:

• Cisco PBX & VOIP technologies
• At least one of the following scripting languages: PHP, Perl, PowerShell, Bash
