Modelers
Description
Position Description:
- To create 3D assets, with primary focus on environment/set/prop
modeling, during visual development, pre-production, and production of the studio’s first CG feature film
entitled, THE NUT JOB, intended for theatrical release;
- To
achieve models for feature film production as well as other projects in
development per established guidelines and timelines;
- To help troubleshoot modeling issues as they arise over the
course of production while partnering with the Lead Modeler, Art Director, CG
Supervisor, and Technical Team to help ensure aethetic goals are met in the
most efficient manner while technical specs are adhered to;
- To spot, report, and communicate
creative and technical issues as they arise via sharing knowledge with team
members and team lead;
- To assist other team members
within the Assets Department as needs arise;
- To maintain awareness of the
broader show needs as they relate to the Modeling Department (schedule,
complexity of setups, etc.).
- To learn additional skill sets
to further enhance careeer development via exploring and/or assisting other
departments, such as Fur/Rigging/Lighting/Compositing, as deemed necessary for
production by CG Supervisor. (NOTE: Full transition to other departments is
dependent upon performance and evaluation by team lead.)
Required
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience of working on more complex set
pieces/models using commercial applications such as Maya or Renderman
- 3+ years CG Modeling experience
- Experience with a sculpting application
(zBrush/MudBox) a bonus
