General
Summary
The Model Shop
Coordinator is responsible, under the supervision of the Art Department
Supervisor, Fabrication Coordinator and the Head of Model Shop, for the
scheduling, asset management, organizing & inventory needs of the Model
Shop. The Coordinator will be a key contact person for inter-department
communications and asset management.
Essential
Job Functions
- Monitor and track progress of all
assets in Model Shop. Update status in tracking
database to ensure inventory is received and delivered in a timely manner and
deadlines are met.
- Assist in prioritizing assets
according to delivery/shooting dates. Ensure
artists are aware of assignments and deadlines.
- Review newly published
sequences. Work with Art Direction to
establish due dates for new props
- Request tests pertinent to Model
Shop assets. Let Animation Coordinator
know when props are ready for testing and attend meetings.
- Facilitates and maintains inter-departmental communications and
follow up on department needs.
- Coordinate Art Director reviews, take notes, and publish to
tracking database.
- Assists
in maintaining inventory and stock of the Model Shop supplies.
- In
tandem with the Art Dept. Fabrication Coordinator, assess and resolves
working space issues as they apply to the Model Shop.
- Represent
Head of Model Shop & Model Shop Department in meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- B.S./B.A.
in film, art or related field or equivalent combination of education/or
experience.
- 3
years of related experience.
Feature film preferred.
- Experience
coordinating groups of people.
- Excellent
communication skills.
- Ability
to plan, schedule and monitor progress across multiple, interdependent
departments.
- Excellent
organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic
word processing, Excel and scheduling software skills. Knowledge of Shotgun software.
