World of Gumball
JOB DESCRIPTION:

Network is looking for an experienced Director to join us for Season 5 of THE
AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL (40 x 11 minutes).
The
Director will be supporting the Series Director and the Show creator to deliver
their vision for each episode throughout the production process.
The
tasks associated with this role include but are not limited to:
- Storyboard Pitches – Once briefed
by the Series Director you will be working with the storyboard team on
each episode board to realise the script to the highest narrative and
comedic level.
- Animatic Edit – Once briefed by the
Series Director you will be working with the Editor to deliver an animatic
of the episode maintaining the comedy and narrative intention of the
episode.
- Technical Review – One the animatic
has been locked you will attend the episodic Tech Review with the Series
Director and all other Heads of Department to discuss and decide on the
technical approach of each shot within the episode.
- Layout Reviews - To review the
episode with the Layout Supervisor and approve the Layout maintaining the
comedy and narrative intention of the episode.
- 2-D Reviews – To review the episode
with the 2-D Supervisor and approve the animation maintaining the comedy
and narrative intention of the episode.
- 3-D Reviews – To review the episode
with the 3-D Supervisor and approve the animation maintaining the comedy
and narrative intention of the episode.
- Background Reviews - To review the
episode with the background Supervisor and Art Director and approve the
backgrounds maintaining the comedy and narrative intention of the episode.
- Compositing Reviews – To review the
episode with the compositing Supervisor and approve the episode.
The
Series Director and Show Creator will have final sign off per episode.
As the show is complex we are looking for a director with
experience in both 2-D and 3-D pipelines and with an eye for comedy in the 7-11
year age group.
Experience of working on long form TV series is required.
