Description
As the Security
Engineer you will be responsible for implementing, protecting and improving
security platforms in the production environment, as well as development,
quality – assurance and staging environments.
This role is not
for the faint hearted! You will be
working in a creative, dynamic and fast paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:

Participate in disaster recovery / continuity
of operations exercises and continuous improvement processes.
·
Assist with the development of security tool
requirements, trials, and evaluations, as well as security operation procedures
and processes.
·
Perform technical activities to deliver
effective host, network, data, and application security services
·
To provide support in planning, designing and
implementing security controls which safeguard and monitor events for
information systems, enterprise applications and data
·
Analyse, troubleshoot, and investigate
security-related, information systems’ anomalies based on security platform
reporting, network traffic, log files, host-based and automated security alerts
·
Maintain, configure and analyse network and
host-based security platforms
·
Knowledgeable on web related technologies (Web
applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and network/web
related protocols.
·
Demonstrate an understanding of enterprise
computing environments, distributed applications and TCP/IP network.
·
Knowledgeable on system hardening processes
and its tools, guidelines and benchmarks.
·
Provide other
general SysAdmin support, as required
·
Ability to work on both Linux-based and MS
Windows-based system platforms with strong technical understanding and aptitude
for analytical problem-solving
·
Perform periodic security and log audits for
relevant components of the IT infrastructure
·
Conduct regular reviews and report on network and
host-based security solutions
·
Maintain and update relevant system and process
documentation
To be successful in
this role you will have:
·
A minimum of 4-7 years IT experience; at least
three of those years focused on IT security or similar
·
Demonstrated hands-on experience with
deploying, configuring, monitoring and reporting on leading security
technologies and solutions
·
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology or related field or an equivalent level of competence obtained
through experience, education and/or training
·
Must possess a current industry recognized
information security certification
·
Experience using Microsoft Office and Visio to
create documents, presentations, and detailed drawings
·
Experience working across multiple sites
·
Strong technical writing, documentation, and
communication skills are required
