Production and themed
entertainment designers bring the stories and experiences we love to life. SCAD
Savannah seeks a full-time professor to teach production design and themed
entertainment design classes.
Successful candidates will be
nationally recognized for their accomplishments and have experience creating
collaborative experiences for students in film and television, performing arts,
digital media, sound design and other departments.
Using your design expertise and
proven technical skills, you’ll teach a dynamic curriculum and be an integral
part of developing future curriculum enhancements and production opportunities.
This is your chance to work
with talented students within the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, a
walkable, bikeable coastal city providing a living laboratory for the study of
art and design.
Requirements:
- Terminal degree or its
equivalent in production design or a related field
- Experience in designing for
theater and film as well as themed entertainment
- Designer with proven
technical skills
- Experience draping and
tailoring for both men and women
- Experience with hand and
machine sewing
- Extensive knowledge of fabric
types and applications
- Experience dyeing, fabric paint,
make-up, and hair
- Experience with pattern
making by hand and computer
- Experience with Photoshop
- Strong portfolio of related
professional work
- Three or more years
experience in higher education preferred
- Knowledge covering the
spectrum of television, theatre, dance and related media preferred.
