Assistant Production Scheduler
Description
General Summary
The main area of focus for the Assistant Production
Scheduler will be to support the Production Scheduler with the daily maintenance
of the shooting schedule. Long term, the Assistant Production Scheduler will be
expected to learn all aspects of how a stop motion feature film is scheduled so
they may step in for the Production Scheduler should the need arise.
Essential Job Functions
- Track
changes and updates to the schedule
- Assist
in translating schedule updates to the digital scheduling database
- Assist
in weekly schedule updates with the animators and stage crew
- Assist
Production Scheduler in running multiple shooting scenarios to find the best
scheduling solutions for sequences
- Assist
department coordinators with scheduling queries – i.e. tracking assets
throughout the shooting schedule
- Track
asset/personnel/equipment conflicts throughout the schedule and help to find
solutions for those conflicts
- Build
and maintain various spreadsheets, one-sheets and other tools that will help
members of Production digest scheduling information
- Absorb
a wide range of information about the Production by attending various daily
meetings with the Production Scheduler
- Answer
a wide range of scheduling questions from all members of the Production in the
absence of the Production Scheduler
- Maintain
an intimate knowledge of the film’s story reels as a baseline for making
reliable scheduling decisions
Qualifications- 2-3
years of related film work experience, stop-motion animation a plus
- Familiarity
with database and digital scheduling programs a plus
- Familiarity
with Microsoft Office applications, emphasis on Excel
- Strong
interpersonal skills
- Strong
understanding of deadline-oriented workflows
- Ability
to synthesize large amounts of information into scheduling decisions
