Position: Lead Gameplay Programmer, DC Universe Online
Location: Austin, TX


Work with a team of highly motivated and talented programmers, artists, and designers at the Austin Texas studio of Daybreak Game Company LLC.  This position would serve a senior and integral role in the leadership, technical design and implementation of current and future game systems and features for DC Universe Online. 

Responsibilities:
•    Provide primary leadership and technical direction to other gameplay engineers
•    Work side by side with the design, art, and other engineering teams to maintain and grow the game systems (combat, AI, quests, items, bases, and more) for DCUO
•    Design, create, optimize, and maintain cross-platform systems

General Requirements:
•    Passion for writing solid, reliable, efficient code and highly scalable systems
•    Strong C++ programming knowledge and skill
•    Strong understanding of object oriented software engineering principles and methodologies
•    Ability to work efficiently and independently
•    Work well under pressure and can handle multiple tasks

Role Specific Requirements:
•    A passion for making and playing games
•    Hands on experience implementing game systems
•    Strong ability to work with game designers and other engineers, to create systems that produce the desired player experiences in a rapid and iterative fashion
•    Strong ability to analyze and debug issues in a live environment
•    Experience leading and mentoring other engineers to accomplish large tasks
