We are looking for a Production Accountant to join our growing Vancouver team. Reporting to the Director of Production Finance, you will also be assisting with production accounting and tax credit calculation aspects of the organization.
What you will be doing:
- Bi-weekly maintenance of cost reports and analysis for Director to review, prior to submission to Finance
- Bi-weekly meetings with Line Producers to review cost reports on shows assigned
- Assist in the production budgeting, forecasting and bidding process
- Create, maintain and revise, as necessary, production schedules for upcoming and ongoing productions, coordinating with studio schedules and resources
- Providing hands-on support with each production to ensure adequate resources and funds required are available
- Preparation and review of expense reports
- In partnership with other members of the finance staff, ensure timely and accurate reporting of production cash flows, cost reports and tax compliance
- Follow up with accounting departments for invoicing
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting in the animation or film industry
- Post-secondary degree in Finance or Business Administration
- Advanced competency with Excel and Word required - We want an Excel Wiz!
- Experience in the Entertainment and/or Technology sectors an asset
- Strong problem solving and the ability to multitask in a busy production environment
- Must be able to prioritize the critical path requirements of each production in relation to production finance
- Previous experience establishing, managing and tracking against a budget required
