Supervisor
The Pipeline Supervisor is responsible for
designing, developing, and maintaining an effective and efficient studio
pipeline.
Responsibilities:
- Develop
an efficient, effective, and user-friendly pipeline with a focus on studio
productivity.
- Work
with supervisors and production to anticipate a show's challenges and find
efficient, effective, and realistic solutions.
- Constantly
brainstorm ways to simplify, optimize, and streamline complicated tasks.
- Demonstrate
a thorough understanding of the tools and procedures of the entire
pipeline and assign development and support tasks to the appropriate
resources.
- Assess
software needs and requirements.
- Identify
and utilize tools and techniques to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide
technical support and leadership to the crew.
- Ensure
constant flow of communication.
- Demonstrate
creative problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Share
information and techniques to foster communication between teams and
disciplines.
- Ensure
thorough clean-up, documentation, and archiving of the show upon
completion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's
degree required, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Graphics.
- 5+
years computer graphics production experience focusing on pipeline design
and development.
- Must
be knowledgeable in, or have end-user experience in, a broad spectrum of
computer graphics techniques and applications.
- Must
have the ability to juggle multiple projects, work with diverse
personalities, and operate within strict deadlines.
- Experience
with production pipelines for visual effects or animation required.
- Demonstrable,
successful experience in either film or game-cinematic production is
required.
- Demonstrated
organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
- Strong
written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven
ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
- Ability
to work within teams comprised of a wide variety of technical and artistic
experience levels.
- Strong
people-management skills.
- Ability
to foster a work environment that is demanding and motivates employees to
maintain creative standards and achieve objectives.
- Ability
to establish priorities and multitask efficiently within a high-pressure
environment while meeting strict deadlines.
