Toy Studio is a developer of mobile games located in the heart of Wicker Park Chicago.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us grow our games. This individual must be creative and a whiz with numbers and problem solving.

Responsibilities include

• Develop, deploy, and maintain cross-platform mobile games with Adobe Air
• Assure applications perform on low-memory devices
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and tune Applications
• Work closely with producer and engineers to execute solutions
• Innovate and brainstorm new ideas & features
• Assist with implementation of best practices for software development

Qualities you must have

• Extensive experience developing Mobile Applications
• 2+ Years of Software Development experience using JavaScript or ActionScript
• 1+ Years of Software Development experience using Java/C++
• Strong experience with OO design and development
• Experience working with 3rd-party SDKs
• Understanding of and ability to parse XML, JSON, and serialized data
• Experience using No-SQL databases
• Game play development experience
• Developed and published a mobile game

A big plus if you

• Have experience with Node, CouchDB and Redis
• Actively use and enjoy hacking Android phones
• Have a passion for video games
