Recruiting Supervisor - Vancouver

Animal Logic, an award winning animation, visual effects and design studio is coming to Vancouver! 

We are seeking an experienced Recruiting Supervisor who can build an extraordinary team! You’ll work with various stakeholders in determining studio-wide recruiting requirements and devise strategic and tactical plans to meet hiring objectives. You’ll be responsible for filling production and facility roles and supervising one or more recruiters, this is a hands on recruiting role.

This position reports to the HR Manager, Vancouver.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing, with the Head of Studio Operations and HR Manager, a recruitment strategy for the Vancouver office and productions
• Overseeing the recruitment function, focussing on talent pipelines, efficient processes and securing quality talent
• Keeping abreast of recruiting best practice, particularly in relation to technology support and communication with talent
• Managing a slate of open positions for studio roles and ensuring there is a constant pipeline of qualified candidates
• Developing and maintaining close communications with the Sydney Recruiting team
• Preparing appropriate reports and ensuring that the recruiting team is keeping reporting activity up to date
• Planning and managing recruitment events and offsite visits (i.e. recruiting trips, school visits, and in-house events) and school outreach activities, specifically as they relate to recruiting and future staffing initiatives
• Managing job postings on the company website and on various external job boards
• Ensuring accurate and optimised use of recruitment tools (i.e. database, applicant tracking system)
• Reviewing and updating local recruitment policies and processes as required
• Assigning workload and tracking progress, ensuring recruiters are meeting deadlines and providing input/feedback to HR Manager on the Recruiting team’s performance 
• Conducting all activities with financial awareness and accountability
• Maintaining a professional attitude combining cooperation, courtesy, confidentiality and respect

To be successful in this role you will have:

• At least 5 years recruiting experience in a creative industry
• Experience working with local, international and seasonal workforce
• Proven ability in running small to large recruiting campaigns within tight deadlines
• Experience supervising a team
• A deep understanding of British Columbia employment legislation
• Knowledge of immigration requirements for temporary skilled workers
• Excellent communication, problem solving, project management, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Formal qualifications in Human Resources (ideal but not essential)
