SUMMARY OF THE
ROLE: Brown Bag Films are
looking to recruit a QC operator to provide quality control on content leaving
BBF whilst also working in a support role for our Flame/Flame Assist online
suites. The QC role involves working to tight deadlines and managing HD tape &
digital deliveries to broadcast clients. The junior Flame operator role is a
great opportunity to learn Flame/Flame Assist and expand candidate’s online
skillset.
The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of their
role in the overall post production workflow. Experience with HD/SD tape
formats and media file formats required and they must have a technical
understanding of workflows and deliverables. They will need to be
self-reliant and organised. They will be able to multi task and communicate
clearly and precisely. They will enjoy problem solving and appreciate the
strength of being part of a supportive team.
Key
Areas of responsibilities:
·
QC on all Broadcast HD/SD tapes and files
leaving the building – audio and visual
·
Encode & Delivery of all final
master/interim files in whatever format required by the client
·
Digital deliveries of final masters
·
FCP track-lays/Edit tasks
·
Basic DVD authoring and output/duplication of
DVDs
·
Flame - Online conforms, clip fixes, audio
laybacks
·
Flame - Formatting
and outputting to various broadcasters delivery specs
·
Flame - Outputting
many formats for delivery to composers, sound studio etc.
·
Flame - Managing
and archiving the Flame systems
·
Communicate with Supervisor on status of all
files
·
Document all processes
·
Labelling all tapes/DVDs
·
Keeping the library up to date
·
Keep up to date with latest technologies,
compressions, file types etc. and adapting to any new technologies introduced
by Brown Bag Films
Person Specification/Requirements:
·
Previous experience of Coordinating Mastering
and Dubbing projects from start to finish.
·
Technical knowledge of HD/SD tape and file
based delivery including encoding a variety of different file formats.
·
Excellent communication skills and strong
administration experience are essential.
·
Final Cut Pro/Premiere/Compressor/DVD Studio
Pro experience.
·
Online knowledgebase and familiarity with
online platforms.
·
Previous online experience preferred.
