Packaging Director

Description

We are seeking a Packaging Director to create innovative and creative packaging that complements and enhances our product lines.  This person will lead the packaging department and work directly with our Creative Director, design and production teams to create exceptional packaging.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.  He/She will also enjoy collaborating on creative execution with cross-functional teams while both having the ability to both take and give creative feedback.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the creative leader for all packaging concepts from project commencement to completion

• Design with an eye for creating high quality packaging that effectively highlights product and drives consumer appeal

• Manage packaging design resources; both internal and external

• Work with Brand and Product Development to script all copy and concept all design elements

• Create accurate and comprehensive layouts; with a high level of attention to detail, effectively manage the numerous iterations throughout the product lifecycle

• Exhibit the ability to manage the full creative collaboration process; incorporate feedback from Creative Director and be able to communicate that feedback to the packaging team

Qualifications:

• 7+ years relevant packaging design experience for retail consumer products

• Undergraduate degree in graphic design or equivalent experience

• An incredible eye for quality and attention to detail

• High level of confidence with the ability to understand, implement and clearly present ideas and concepts to Management and cross-functional teams

• Ability to be flexible in design and creative implementation; desire to work on creatively unique and varied product lines

• Great sense of color acuity, with in-depth experience in pre-press, die lines and structure

• Deliver a hands on approach to solving problems and working with others

• Possess a positive attitude and desire to pitch in when and where needed

• Strong level of initiative and self-motivation

• In-depth knowledge of printing and production processes

• Proficient in Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator; InDesign knowledge desired
