Description
Visual
effects artists are masters of illusion, creating believable images that are
impossible or impractical to shoot in the real world. Help talented students
make their own unbelievable dreams a reality as a full-time professor in visual
effects at SCAD Savannah.
Ideal
candidates will demonstrate familiarity with the planning and execution of
photographic elements for visual effects. These areas include script breakdown
and detailed shot planning, essential camera operation, scene data collection,
CG integration, miniature and forced-perspective photography, blue and
green-screen photography, use of motion control technology, set protocol, and
the planning and construction of special effects rigs for visual effects.
Candidates will be familiar with current trends and technological developments
in visual effects image gathering.
In
this role, you will demonstrate expert proficiency in the following areas:
photorealistic compositing within a node-based professional compositing environment
(e.g. Nuke or equivalent); the integration of photographic elements with CG
effects animation, characters and environments including script breakdown, shot
planning and postproduction project management; and a working familiarity with
current tools and techniques of the visual effects industry.
Requirements:

Terminal degree or its equivalent in visual effects or a related field

College-level teaching experience preferred

On-set and location experience in a supervisory capacity strongly desired
