Primary Job Description
The Manager, Strategic Accounts
manages the day-to-day sales and service of key accounts in multiple vertical markets
as well as identifies and encourages cross-selling opportunities between
vertical markets where possible. This role is responsible for developing new
business while managing and growing existing business for the company. You’ll be responsible for developing and
retaining Downstream’s existing client base to achieve annual sales objectives,
develop, manage and motivate staff by resolving issues, assisting on projects,
reviewing and evaluating work methods, and providing necessary training to
enhance skill sets. You’ll collaborate with senior staff on proposal/RFP
response evaluations and develop comprehensive client service plans to ensure
world-class customer service. Additionally, the role requires new business
development expertise including prospecting, lead generation, and networking
program experience.
To be eligible for this role you must
possess prior relevant experience with a design firm or business development/account management in a related field. You should be organized and have the ability
to multi task. Experience collaboratively
managing a project team through the creative process is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic thinking to manage, develop and grow business
Monitor emerging markets for new business prospects
Become a brand expert for all accounts
Direct business development within each assigned account and
creates detailed scope documents for new projects
Maintain and cultivate business relationships within accounts and
close new business
Create and deliver opportunity briefs to design and project teams
Participate in the planning, development and creation of concepts
Manage external client and internal team expectations on all aspects
of projects including timelines, budgets, etc.
Deliver outstanding client service that forges open, honest and
long term client relationships
Ensure projects are delivered timely, accurately and efficiently
and profitably
Coordinate and facilitate communications with the various project
and production teams
Provide regular account reports and revenue forecasts
Attend relevant client events and trade shows and participate in
industry trade organizations as necessary.
