Description
Take the opportunity to work with
talented students within the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, a
walkable, bikeable coastal city that provides a living laboratory for the study
of art and design. SCAD seeks a career adviser to counsel SCAD students and
alumni from the School of Digital Media on career preparation, self-promotion,
portfolio development and professional growth.
In this role, you will conduct
one-on-one sessions, workshops, presentations and special events, as well as
reach out to industry leaders, businesses and other alumni to help talented
students and graduates land their dream jobs.
This position requires excellent
organizational, communication, project-management and presentation skills. You
must demonstrate knowledge of the career development process, experience
working with diverse populations, and a comprehensive understanding of the art
and design job market. You will participate in departmental and institutional events
and activities as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with experience in career advising, recruiting or related
industry
- Master’s degree preferred
- Student-centered focus
- Demonstrated proficiency with information management systems and other
Web-based technology
- Proven ability to develop relationships with students, alumni, employers,
faculty and colleagues
